PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range-finding device capable of accurately recognizing a subject even when a range-finding unfeasible part exists. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with an area selection means 103 selecting a range-finding area including at least three or more range-finding points out of plural range-finding points, a range-finding arithmetic calculation means 102 calculating distance data concerning the range-finding point, a reliability decision means 104 discriminating the reliability of the distance data, a range-finding unfeasible area extraction means 105 extracting a range-finding unfeasible area including one or continuous two or more range-finding points, whose reliability is discriminated to be low, an interval arithmetic calculation means 106 arithmetically calculating an interval on a subject in the range-finding unfeasible area, and a distance setting means 107 setting the distance data of the range-finding unfeasible area in accordance with the respective distance data concerning the range-finding points adjacent on both sides of the range- finding unfeasible area and the interval on the subject in the range-finding unfeasible area. |
