<p>An exhaust gas desulfurizing method effected by contacting exhaust gas with an absorption slurry containing limestone, characterized by comprising the steps of classifying the absorption slurry extracted from a desulfurizing column to return the fluid on the minute side to the desulfurizing column while sending the fluid on the coarse side to a solid-liquid separator, converting fed-in limestone powder into a limestone slurry by a solid-liquid mixer, classifying the limestone slurry to send the small-particle fluid component to the desulfurizing column while sending the large-particle fluid component to a limestone fine grinding mill, and finely grinding the limestone contained in the large-particle fluid component by the limestone fine grinding mill to liquid-feed it to the desulfurizing column; and a system therefor. According to the desulfurizing method, the concentration of the limestone in the desulfurizing column is raised while holding at a low concentration the limestone remaining in the by-product gypsum, so as to improve the desulfurizing efficiency of the absorption column, while the operating energy for the whole system can be reduced.</p> |
