With the drinking opening (4) opened and prior to the closing process the closures (5) are subjected to cleaning so that the opened closure is fitted onto the mouth of the bottle to close the drinking opening after which the protective cap is then fitted on the closure. Independent claim describes closing machine which has additional means to close the opened drink closure (5) and also has a further device to fit on the protective cap (6).
