<p>The invention provides an electrode for use with an electrolyte in an electrolytic cell which includes a support formation, a body engaged with the support formation and which is at least partly insertable into the electrolyte, a cavity within the body, an inlet into the cavity and a plurality of outlets from the cavity through which a fluid can exit the cavity, which outlets are located in close proximity to a lower end of the body.The invention further extends to a method of manufacturing an electrode of the aforementioned kind which includes the steps of forming at least one recess formation in the body, at least partially inserting a former in the recess formation, welding the recess formation closed over the former and removing the former from the welded recess formation to create a passage.</p> |
