PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical optical communication device which eliminates the need for the wavelength management of an optical transmitting circuit, can use the same wavelength at the same time, and is suitable for an increase in capacity. SOLUTION: First and second carrier modulation parts 1021 and 1022 modulate an input signal of a base band with carriers of mutually different frequency, 1st and 2nd variable-wavelength optical modulation parts 1031 and 1032 convert the modulated signals into optical signals of 1st wavelength and 2nd wavelength, and an optical multiplexing part 104 multiplexes and sends them out to an optical transmission line 105. A wavelength separation part 106 output respective wavelength components of the multiplexed optical signal and 1st and 2nd optical reception parts 1071 and 1072 reconvert those wavelength components into electric signals; and 1st and 2nd transmission parts 1081 and 1082 transmit only signal components of respective frequencies and 1st and 2nd burst demodulation parts 1091 and 1092 demodulate the modulated signals from the transmission parts. |
