PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and small sized bi-directional optical communication device and bi-directional optical communication equipment in which the whole duplex system communication is performed by one optical fiber and whose transmitting loss in both transmission and reception is small. SOLUTION: Transmitting light 13 radiated from a light emitting element 4 is condensed by a transmission lens 6, passes through the opening part 9 of an optical separation element 8 and is combined to the optical fiber 2. Receiving light 15 radiated from the optical fiber 2 is reflected by a curved surface-like reflecting surface 10 formed on the surface of the optical separation element 8 and is combined to the light receiving element 4. A part of transmitting light 13 (reflected transmitting light 14) reflected by the end surface of the optical fiber 2 whose end surface is inclined is reflected in the outside of the reflecting surface 10 and is not combined to the light receiving element 4.
