PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect accurate toner residual quantity after a toner absent warning is issued by a residual toner empty detecting means. SOLUTION: After a low level of the toner is detected by the residual toner quantity detecting means, toner patches 8 are formed on an image carrier 100 and by measuring the toner density of the patches by means of the density sensor 113, the toner residual quantity is detected. |
