<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To align components one with another at a low cost with high accuracy in an apparatus for optical interconnection of wiring boards (inter-board optical interconnection apparatus). SOLUTION: The apparatus for optical interconnection of wiring boards has a plurality of wiring boards which mount electronic circuits, optical transmitters and optical receivers and are vertically mounted so as to arrange in parallel to the same board wherein signals are transferred between the plurality of wiring boards, using light beams. The optical transmitter has a ferule involving a plurality of lens arrays and a chip carrier mounting a semiconductor laser, the optical receiver has the ferrule and a chip carrier mounting a photo diode, and a relay optical block composed of a transparent spacer and a split sleeve is provided between the ferrule of the optical transmitter of the first wiring board and the ferrule of the optical receiver of the second wiring board.</p> |
