PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb the expansion/shrinkage of a laminated electric double layer capacitor using a gel-like electrolyte. SOLUTION: The conventional upper and lower end plates are respectively separated into tightening plates 1 and collector plates 2, flexible sheets 3 are sandwiched between the tightening plates 1 and the collector plates 2, and the upper and lower tightening plates 1 are tightened by bolts 10 to press the collector plates 2 and intermediate cells 4 from above and below through the flexible sheets 3, thereby sealing them.
