PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a travel distance and/or a necessary time corresponding to service state display characters of 'vacant', 'hired', 'in-service', 'out-of- service', 'sightseeing', etc., of a taxi meter in the same display part at the same time together with the service state display characters. SOLUTION: This display device is equipped with the display part which displays the service state display characters of 'vacant', 'hired', 'in-servicel', 'out-of-servicel', 'sightseeing', etc., a distance detecting means which computes a travel distance by inputting travel pulses corresponding to the rotation of driving wheels of a vehicle, and a timer detecting means which computes a time by inputting timer pulses and also equipped with a means which stores the computed distance data and time data. The time and/or distance data corresponding to the service state display characters are displayed in the same display part when necessary together with the service state display characters.
