PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing agent composition for a silver halide photographic sensitive material having bleaching ability for the sensitive material having suitability to rapid desilvering, free from edge stain and having superior shelf stability, giving a stable processing solution free from precipitation and the occurrence of sludge due to the presence of metal ions, not causing the clogging of an attached filter, excellent in biodegradability and suitable for the protection of the global environment and a processing method. SOLUTION: The processing agent composition for silver halide photography contains at least one compound of formula I.
