PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a search model registering device capable of easily performing highly accurate registration of a search model. SOLUTION: Image information about the subject 2 of measurement whose images are picked up by an image pickup part 3 through an image forming means 1 is subjected to image processing by a personal computer body 4 and displayed on a display part 5 and the windows of candidates for a model to be registered are designated within the display screen of the display part 5, using the mouse of an input part 6. When a test is instructed, the degrees of similarities to the candidates for the model to be registered are determined, together with all of resembling models which resemble the candidates for the model to be registered, detected from within all of the images displayed on the display part 5. Based on these data, determination is made as to whether or not the candidates should be registered as the model to be registered.
