PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device equipped with a transfer device capable of enlarging an effective image area by enhancing the close contactness of an image carrier and a transfer paper and eliminating a defective transfer. SOLUTION: A pre-transfer roller 10 is constituted of plural cylindrical divided rollers made of conductive sponge. The divided rollers 12a on the central side are obliquely arranged in the axial direction of a photoreceptor drum so as to come close to the photoreceptor drum, so that the nip width between the photoreceptor drum and the roller is increased on the central part side. By dividing the roller, the distortion of the pre-transfer roller 10 is reduced as a whole, and the close contactness with the photoreceptor drum is enhanced, and besides, by using a roller-like sponge member, the photoreceptor drum is prevented from being scratched. Besides, by bringing the divided rollers 12a on the central side in the axial direction of the photoreceptor drum into strong press contact with the photoreceptor drum, the close contactness of the transfer paper coming into a transfer part and the photoreceptor drum, is enhanced.
