A method and arragement (32) for sewage pre-treatment in a sewer pipeline infrastructure (16) upstream of a sewage treatment facility (14) of a sewage treatment system (10) includes selecting a site (20) in the sewer pipeline infrastructure (16) between a source (34) of untreated sewage and the sewage treatment facility (14) of the system (10), providing a source (34) of a biological activity enhancing agent at the preselected site (20), and introducing the agent from the source (34) thereof into a flow of untreated sewage (S) at the selected site (20) so as to convert the sewage (S) from an untreated state to a pre-treated state in the pipeline infrastructure (16) upstream of the sewage treatment facility (14).
