PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase difference film which has negative refractive index anisotropy, good in heat resistance and moldability or the like. SOLUTION: This phase difference film consists of a specific polycarbonate with a fluorene skeleton having a methyl group, and its three-dimensional refractive index measured on a measurement wavelength of 550 nm satisfies an equation nx<nz. In the equation nx is a refractive index of the main drawing direction within the film surface, and nz is a refractive index of the normal direction to the film surface. Angle-of-view characteristics of a liquid crystal display device are improved by laminating the phase difference film with a phase difference having positive refractive index anisotropy. |
