PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a state-monitoring device for an electric railcar, which can appropriately detect the abnormality of the underfloor equipment of the electric railcar by minimizing the database amount of a normal pattern. SOLUTION: A controller 2 prepares underfloor heat distribution data for the electric railcar, based on the temperature value of underfloor equipment of the electric railcar detected by means of a temperature detecting means 3, whereas a sound processor 7 generates underfloor sound distribution data of the electric railcar, by analyzing the frequencies of the sounds produced from the underfloor equipment and detected by means of a sound detecting means 6. A processor 8 changes a preset normal pattern to another normal pattern matching the state of the underfloor equipment, based on the sound pressure at a prefixed specific frequency of the sound distribution data in the decision of the abnormality of the equipment, by comparing the heat distribution data obtained by means of the controller 2 with a preset normal pattern.
