PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take a large effective range on a photoelectric surface, make spatial resolution and time resolution higher within the effective range and spatial distortion small, and D-range enlarge. SOLUTION: A streaking unit is equipped wit a streaking tube 1 composed of a vacuum chamber 1a having a photoelectric surface 3 at one end and an output surface 6 at the other end, anaccelerating, electrode 4 emitting photoelectrons, deflecting electrode 5 consisting of a pair of poles, a plurality of focused magnetic-flux generators 12a and 12b that focus photoelectrons emitted from the photoelectric surface 3, a deflection voltage generating circuit 10, an acceleration voltage generating circuit 9, and drive power supplies 13a and 13b that supply electric current to the focusing magnetic-flux generators 12a and 12b, which form a major focusing electron lens that focuses the electron image formed on the photoelectric surface 3, and a prefocus lens that is provided between the photoelectric surface 3 and a major focusing electron lens and focuses photoelectrons emitted from the photoelectric surface 3 toward the center of the major focusing electron lens.
