PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photomultiplier having improved anode assembling while an insulation substrate is prevented from static change, and mutually disposing anode plates with high density. SOLUTION: In this photomultiplier, each anode plate 21 can easily be disposed on an insulation substrate 20, when disposing the plural anode plates 21 on the substrate 20, simply by inserting leads 21b of a plurality of anode plates 21 into the holes 23 provided on the substrate. And adjacent lead-insertion holes 23 are not arranged in a line because they are staggered in the direction X of putting. Accordingly, this prevents crack of the substrate 20 along lead inserting holes 23 while allowing high density layout of the anode plates 21 in the direction X. Electrons can be trapped by an electron absorbing plate 22 before trapped by the substrate 20, and static charge of the substrate 20 is appropriately prevented because a major part 21a of the anode plates 21 can be enclosed with the electron absorbing plate 22.
