The bag pref. has side folds, and welded head and foot seams (6) and corner seams (2) defining corners. The corners have cut-outs (7) extending from the cut end edge (5), which form side strips (8) pref. for use as grips, with releasable connection elements at the ends. The strips are of a length, so that they can be folded at an angle over the side edges (3) of the bag. The connection elements are formed by hook-and-loop fasteners (9), permanently adhesive layers, press studs, or tapes.
