Separate hot air nozzles are positioned in a vertical heated foaming chamber of a foaming oven with each nozzle aligned vertically and at a different angle to the others. The long nozzle outlets form an array of air streams directed at a passing strip material. Independent claims are made for: a) a process for producing foamed strip material in which a plastic strip containing a blowing agent passes through the foaming chamber from top to bottom and is expanded by hot air; b) a foamed strip, 2-5mm thick with a density 20-40 g/l produced by the process; c) use of the foamed strip in molded products and in conjunction with other materials.
