PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting method for surface-mounting parts and machine therefor provided with an electronic components holding device which can surely hold parts regardless of the housing state and shape of the parts, by selectively using a chuck-type holding means and a suction nozzle type holding means by switching. SOLUTION: Electronic components (b) are held by means of a surface- mounting component-mounting machine W by selectively attaching a suction nozzle holding means A1 and a chuck type holding means A. The suction nozzle holding means A1 has a suction path 14 through which the suction force from an air intake source 13 is made to work and holds the components (b) by sucking the parts by the suction force. The chuck-type holding means A holds the parts (b) by clamping the components (b) by means of clamping bodies 6a and 6b at the front end sections of forward-backward moving bodies 5a and 5b, by actuating the bodies 5a and 5b by the suction force from the intake source 13, in such a way that the body 5a is first actuated and then the other body 5a is actuated to the attaching body 2 of the fitting head 1 of the machine W. |
