<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for translating inputted text from am original natural language into a target natural language. SOLUTION: This system has a phase extracting part 15, extracting a word phrase from an inputted text segment and a database reading means which reads a text segment pair including the extracted word phrase from a database 17, by using the phrase header of the database being the word phrase. In there system and method, when a user performs double clicking on a difficult word phrase, a relevant word phrase appears and an appropriate translated word is proposed by showing a series of sentences or phases, including the extracted word phrase in a visible form. The system refers to the database 17 of sentences with a phrase header attached for this purpose. The system may further have a term base. When a user admits the proposed translated word, the translated word is inserted automatically into a translation.</p> |
