PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a navigation device to automatically select a function matching a cellular phone connected thereto. SOLUTION: This navigation device has: an operation input part 1 where a predetermined operation is carried out by a user; a map storage medium 3 storing map information; a GFS part 4 detecting the current position by checking position information against the map information of the map storage medium 3; a display device 8 displaying image data where the current position detected by the GPS part 4 is superimposed on the map information of the map storage medium 3; a cellular phone 9 for transmitting and receiving predetermined information; a communication I/F part 10 for identifying the kind of the cellular phone 9 connected; and a central processing unit 2 for selecting the function matching the kind of the cellular phone 9 identified by the communication I/F part 10.
