PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and simply analyze a fluorene constituent unit in a polymer containing a fluorene residue in its constituent components. SOLUTION: In a method for analyzing a fluorene constituent unit, the UV absorbing spectrum of a polymer containing a fluorene residue in its constituent components is measured and the characteristic absorption due to theπ-π* transition of a fluorene ring is used to calculate the content of the fluorene residue in the constituent components.
