PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cumulative value calculating method, by which a cumulative value can be calculated at every time when an inquiry sentence is called without holding the cumulative value in a secondary storage device when calculating the value. SOLUTION: In a step S1, the starting point and ending point of an ID 12 on a table 11 are determined corresponding to an entry from an operating terminal. In a step S2, the set of records from the starting point to the ending point is defined as a set 41 and the same set as the set 41 is separately defined as a set 42. In a step S3, the ID 12 of the set 41 is set and in steps S4-S6, the set 41 and the set 42 are compared for the unit of one record. In this step S4, the ID of the set 42 is compared successively from the first ID of the set 41, a set having the ID equal with or smaller than the present ID is selected and its value is accumulated.
