The conveyor belt has a bearer side for the conveyed material and a running side, each of elastomeric material, an embedded stress bearer between the sides, especially steel cables, at least one conducting loop in a plane with no crossing points and preferably only one joint, especially in the less exposed edge region of the belt. The conducting loop has a larger diameter in the edge region (A) of the belt than in the central region (B).
