PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image defects and to obtain easy-to-read printed matters even when plural original images of different sizes are printed. SOLUTION: The size of a recognized original image is compared with the size of a print area equivalent to a single page of print form or the areas obtained by dividing evenly the said single page. Then the original image is reduced and set in the print area only when the original image size is larger than the print area. Meanwhile, the original image is set in its unmagnified size when the original image size is equal to or smaller than the print area 4.
