PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system capable of continuing the reception of print data and early releasing the origin of transmission of print data from processing related with printing even when a waiting state for transmission processing at the origin of transmission of print data is set due to the shortage of a memory during the reception of print data. SOLUTION: Print data from a print data generating device 2 including a transfer destination candidate detecting means 10 or the like and transfer destination retrieval information for transferring print data generated according to the operating situations of plural printing devices 3 connected to a network 1 are transmitted to a printing device 3-1. Thus, it is possible to efficiently retrieve a device 3-x capable of transferring the print data, and to quickly receive print data by transferring the print data through the network 1 to the printing device 3-x in a short time.
