PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure sufficient channel cross section, while withstanding an electromagnetic force, and to reduce losses generated in a pipe structure. SOLUTION: In the armature coil of a rotary electric machine, where pipe type structures 4a, 4b having rectangular sections which form refrigerant channels 3 for making refrigerant flow in the longitudinal direction of a coil are arranged inside an upper coil 1a and a lower coil 1b, which are accommodated in a core slot and surrounded by main insulating material, the thickness of the side surfaces 7a of the structures 4a, 4b are made greater than the thickness of the upper and of the lower surfaces 7b.
