PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operating efficiency of drawing preparation by collectively preparing and editing dimension lines, with respect to elements in a designated area in the drawing preparation in a CAD. SOLUTION: A dimension measurement object element recognizing part 31 recognizes in batch a plurality of drawing elements to be the given object of a dimension line. A dimension line arrangement processing part 33 arranges the dimension line prepared from the collectively recognized dimension measurement object elements with the minimum rectangular area, including the recognized elements as a reference. A dimension line relocation processing part 34 relocates a plurality of dimension lines arranged by the part 33 according to a rule regulating the positional relation among the dimension lines to one another and the positional relation between a dimension line and a drawing element or the like. Rule files 41a to 41c describe the positional relation between the dimension line to one another and the positional relation between the dimension line and the drawing element. A rule file selecting part 43 decides on selecting of any of the files 41a to 41c, when displaying the dimension lines.
