PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronism control method improving the disturbance of a movie screen by the deviation of the driving timing of an image pickup system from the driving timing of a reproduction system at the mode of AE, AF and an actual exposure processing and to provide an image pickup device. SOLUTION: An image signal outputted from CCD 10 is stored in a memory 18 through a CDS circuit 12, an amplifier 14, and an A/D converter 16, is converted into the video signal of a prescribed system by an encoder 20 and is outputted to a display device 24. SSG 22 supplies a synchronizing signal to the encoder 20 and supplies the synchronizing signal to a timing generator 26 driving CCD 10. When the timing of the image pickup system is deviated from the vertical synchronizing signal (VD) of the reproduction system, the timing generator 26 is reset (synchronized) by VD of the reproduction system by SSG 22. The driving timing of CCD 10 is synchronized with movie screen output timing in the display device 24.
