PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suppressor type ion chromatography method and apparatus for removing the gas prior to sample detection. SOLUTION: In one aspect of this present invention, the by-product gas generated from the suppression of a mobile phase is removed before the detection of the specimen ion in a detector. In the other aspect, the quantity of carbonic acid dissolved in the carbonate/bi-carbonate mobile phase under the suppression is reduced by removing the carbon dioxide gas.
