PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a portable telephone which operates a digital camera only when need, so as not to wastefully consume the power and is free of malfunctions and includes digital camera functions. SOLUTION: The portable telephone is provided with a lens 74, which realizes two states of a storage state and an image pickup permission state, a signal processing circuit 70 which is connected to the lens 74 and coverts an image inputted from the lens to digital data, a transmission/reception part 18 which is connected to the signal processing circuit 70 and transmits digital data to another portable telephone, a lens direction detection circuit 26 which detects the image pickup permission state of the lens, and a power source part 22, which is connected to the lens direction detection circuit 26 and supplies power to the signal processing circuit 70, on the basis of the detection result of the lens direction detecting circuit 26. |
