PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily locate target information. SOLUTION: An icon-generating part 6 and an icon managing part 7 generate an icon in each character quantity used for retrieval and display the icon on a screen. An image arrangement managing part 8 decides the display position of an image extracted from an image database 1 about each icon, according to characteristic quantity shown by respective icons. The higher the similarity of each image to a corresponding icon is, the closer the position to the icon the image win be displayed at, and the farther the distance separation between the icons is, the higher the similarity of an image to the icons is collected at the adjacent position of each icon. When further a moving operation of the icon is performed by a user interface 2, the display position of each image is reset.
