PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the failure of a memory for backup in the form of evading the waste of the memory for the backup as much as possible. SOLUTION: In this backup storage controller for performing control for writing data inside a volatile memory (DRAM) to a nonvolatile memory (EEPROM) so as to back them up, a write error generated at the time of writing the data of a backup object in the volatile memory to the nonvolatile memory is detected, the write of backup data is tried again without acknowledging the failure of the nonvolatile memory when the number of times of detecting the write error is the prescribed number of times or less and the failure of the nonvolatile memory is acknowledged for the first time and that effect is displayed in the case that the number of times of detecting the write error exceeds the prescribed number of times. |
