PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gradation modulation sound automatic switch device of a digital broadcast reception device, which can avoid an inconvenience that sound is eliminated when a C/N is deteriorated since second sound is heard in a case when a low hierarchy exists in first sound in first sound and second sound and one reference to the lower hierarchy exists. SOLUTION: A system controller 12 acquires information required for the shift of sound where the low hierarchy exists to the low hierarchy in plural sounds in a channel designated by a user and stores it in a memory 13. When the sound of the low hierarchy does not exist in sound which is selected when a C/N is deteriorated, shift to low hierarchy sound is compulsorily conducted based on shift destination information stored in the memory 13. At the time of shift to low hierarchy sound, sound types before shift are stored in the memory 13 and restoration to original high hierarchy sound is conducted based on the sound type stored in the memory 13 at the time of restoration to C/N.
