The transmission (16) comprises a casing and a connecting shaft which projects from the casing at the forward and rearward ends constituting splined shaft trunions (18). The trunnions provide a torque transmitting connection of a drive shaft extension. Two plates (22) in the mounted condition of the transmission extend upward from the rearward end (20) of the transmission. A trunnion (24) extends through the plates and is enclosed by a sleeve provided between the two plates. The ends of the trunnion (24) form fixing projections (28) and latch to the vehicle (10) hooks (12,14).
