PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simplified function for enabling a callee to execute call screening of an arriving call when the callee simply wants to know the identity of an arriving caller. SOLUTION: Concerning the new calling function, the caller is enabled to block only the telephone number of the caller but not to block the transmission of the identity of the caller. As one execution style, the method for identifying the caller is provided with a step for providing an option to the caller for sending identification information limited except for the telephone number of the caller. As a substitutive execution style, the caller is identified by the step for providing the identification information of the caller to the callee and this information is limited to contain data except for the telephone number of the caller. Further, as the other execution style, a telephone set 402 is provided with a controller 404 and a display 406 and the display is suited to display information on the name of the caller and the status of the telephone number of the caller.
