PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen member for transmission type projection which is not influenced by environmental change, restrains the curve of a screen, does not causes the wrinkle of the screen nor the rubbing of the screen due to vibration in the midst of transportation. SOLUTION: In this screen member for a transmission type projection screen where a lenticular lens sheet and a Fresnel lens sheet are held in a frame body together with a protecting plate; the bending elastic modulus D(JIS-K-7203) of the protecting plate is >=230 kg/mm2 and the specified impact strength (Izod, notched) (JIS-K-7110) thereof is >=1.7 kg.cm/cm, and the protecting plate, the lenticular lens sheet and the Fresnel lens sheet are made of plastic and they are disposed in the is order from an observer side when they are set as the screen. The protecting plate has freestanding property and the thickness tP of the protecting plate is larger than tL+tF being the sum of the thickness tL of the lenticular lens sheet and the thickness tF of the Fresnel lens sheet, and a difference between gripper width tW and their total thickness tT is within the range of <=1.0 mm and >=0.1 mm.
