PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed reflector semiconductor laser that approaches an optical waveguide for providing an amorphous film, adds light or heat to the amorphous film, adjusts the refractive index of the amorphous film for adjusting a phase, and changes a current where a mode hop is generated for obtaining stable single mode oscillation at a desired operation point. SOLUTION: In this distributed reflector semiconductor laser, an active region for obtaining an optical gain by injecting current, and an optical waveguide including a distributed reflector for feeding back light at least at its one portion, are aligned in a resonators axial direction, and light and heat are temporarily applied, thus providing an amorphous film that can adjust the refractive index while the amorphous film approaches the optical waveguide.
