PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print good-quality images at a high speed without being affected by a surface state of a printing medium and a previously transferred thermal transfer recording material. SOLUTION: In a thermal transfer recording apparatus, printing heads 1-4 are heated to transfer the thermal transfer recording material of thermal transfer recording media 11-1 to 14-1 to the printing medium 5, thereby recording images. The recording is carried out to the printing medium 5 transferred at a transfer velocity of not lower than 50 mm/s by the thermal transfer recording material showing a dynamic shear modulus of 1×103 to 8×105 Pa and a loss tangent tan δ of 0.6 to 2.5, when a dynamic viscoelasticity is measured at a frequency of 0.5 Hz in a temperature range of 100 to 150 deg.C. |
