PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor mat which is easily handled like a tile carpet and superior in heat insulation and retention properties on a floor surface. SOLUTION: The floor mat 18 is constituted by attaching Hook and Loop fasteners 14 and 15 to the four side surfaces of the circumference of a square porous base 11 of a thickness of 10-50 mm with a cushion property of which the surfaces are coated with flexible face sheets 12. As the Hook and Loop fasteners 14 and 15 are attached to the four side surfaces, it is possible to connect the floor mat 18 to another floor mat 18 only by butting one against the other, to lay the floor mats 18 widely on the floor surface, and to remove and change them whenever necessary.
