PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blow-by gas returning structure, capable of displacing a breather chamber by effectively utilizing a dead space, without having to increase the size of a whole engine. SOLUTION: A front end part 12a of a crank shaft 12 is projected outside from the front wall part 18a of a cylinder block, a starter motor 78 is connected to a flywheel 74 via a reduction gear 77 and a charging device 79 is installed, the charging device, the flywheel and the reduction gear are covered with a flywheel magnet cover 73, a communicating opening for allowing the inside of the cover to communicate with that of a crank chamber 82 is formed in the front wall part 18a of the cylinder block, the breather chamber 85 provided with gas-liquid separation function is formed in the cover, a communicating pipe part 86a for introducing gaseous mixture of lubrication oil and blow-by gas that flowed in via the communicating opening into the breather chamber is formed, and the blow-by gas separated into gas and liquid in the breather chamber is guided to an intake system via a returning pipe.
