PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide excellent thixotropy imparting agents which are stable for a long period of time without separation and, simultaneously, can retain the viscosity and thixotropy without causing variations with time even after incorporation into an unsaturated polyester resin, and which do not generate a gel, and unsaturated resin compositions comprising the same. SOLUTION: The thixotropy imparting agents for unsaturated polyester resins comprise a hydrogenated castor oil obtained by reacting one equivalent of the hydroxyl group of a hydrogenated castor oil with 0.01-1 equivalent of the isocyanate group of a polyvalent isocyanate compound, and the unsaturated polyester resin compositions comprise the thixotropy imparting agents.
