PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection system having an advantage of both high injection pressure characteristics of an electronic injection unit and pressure adjustment in a common rail fuel injection system. SOLUTION: A fuel injection unit 10 is equipped with an orifice 24 to supply fuel to the fuel storage chamber 28 in the injection unit from a fuel conduit 76, and a plunger 18 mounted in the injection unit so that it can freely reciprocate. The plunger is equipped with a plunger path 26 opened to the storage chamber at one end and opened to the fuel measuring orifice at the other end when the plunger reciprocates, and the injection unit is equipped with an electronically controlled solenoid control valve 30 to inject the fuel into a cylinder by actuating an fuel needle in the injection unit and a cam shaft having a cam lobe 68 to drive the plunger. |
