PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently prepare an ink-jet recording sheet with high luster and less ununiformity of luster. SOLUTION: In a method for preparing the ink-jet recording sheet wherein an ink receiving layer and a luster exhibiting layer are successively applied by coating on a substrate and are dried and after the luster exhibiting layer is wetted with a rewetting liquid and is plasticized, it is brought into press contact with a heated mirror face roll and is dried and finished, an aimed ink-jet recording sheet can be efficiently prepared by incorporating an ethylene oxide adduct of acetylene glycol into the rewetting liquid.
