PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a transfer failure occurs when a steel pipe conveyed on an angled surface of an over bridge with rolling down is transferred to a chain conveyer with a claw. SOLUTION: This conveying device 11 comprises a driving roller 12, a driven roller 13, and the chain conveyer 14 with a claw for receiving the steel pipe 1, includes a sprocket 17, a chain 18, a torque generating device 19, and a tension adjusting device 26, and has a driven-rotation-member driving device 15 for generating torque for the driven roller 13 in the direction same as a rotation driving direction of the chain conveyer 14.
