PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost by constituting a nipping guide rod for vertical conveyance, capable of absorbing the change of the width of a passage, caused by the change of a fed amount of conveyed grain culms by a plate spring in a reaping part of a combine harvester. SOLUTION: This reaping part of the combine harvester is constituted of a U-shaped rod 34 arranged over the right side and the upper part of an upward conveying device 3, and a nipping guide-attaching plate 40 for attaching a nipping guide 37 for vertical conveyance, fixed to the left lower part of the U-shaped rod. The nipping guide-attaching plates 40 as steel plates are constituted of rectangular steel plates, have rigidity, and are arranged along the nipping guide 37.
