PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric washing machine equipped with a motor to be driven by an inverter device, wherein a problem relating to a long signal line or electromagnetic noise is solved without the provision of a position detection means at the motor. SOLUTION: A motor 4 connected to an inverter circuit 3 is composed of a rotator equipped with a permanent magnet 4d and a stator equipped with armature windings 4a-4c. A voltage detection means 16 detects the relative position between the rotator and the stator through detection of counter electromotive force generating in each armature winding by the rotation of the rotator and then outputs the result to a control means 6. The means 6 controls the rotational speed to a specified set value of rotational speed through ON/OFF control of switching means 3a-3f based on information from the means 16, and during starting control performing control through setting of the set value of the rotational speed so that it may increase gradually. Accordingly, starting is implemented while preventing generation of synchronization error and exessive current. |
