<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable water heater, in which a detecting sensor or a pair of electrodes will not be short-circuited by mistake with water even when the water flows into the peripheral part of an overpressure preventing valve. SOLUTION: The water heater is provided with the overpressure preventing valve for water in a tank making out when the pressure in the tank is raised to an abnormal pressure higher than a given value while the overpressure preventing valve is equipped with an elbow pipe 18, provided with a water reservoir 22 and the detecting sensor or a pair of electrodes 23a, 23b, and one electrode 23a is inserted into the water reservoir 22 from one side wall 22a of the water reservoir 22, which is opposed to the other side wall, and the other electrode 23b is inserted into the water reservoir 22 through the other side wall 22b respectively. When the water in the tank leaks out by the operation of the overpressure preventing valve due to an abnormal pressure in the tank and the water is stored in the water reservoir 22, the pair of electrodes 23a, 23b are short-circuited electrically by the water whereby the abnormal pressure in the tank can be detected.</p> |
